Aviators For Liberty was formed to call attention to the abuses of power being conducted by the Transportation Security Administration in the name of security. Several recent attempts by the TSA to enact new laws and regulations threaten the liberties that aviators currently enjoy in the United States. We feel that these actions are beyond the scope of authority given to the TSA by Congress, and in some cases unconstitutional. Although we accept that aviation security is critically important in today’s world, we believe that many of the recent attempts do nothing to improve actual security, but do much to restrict or remove rights and liberties of U.S. citizens. The Aviators for Liberty fear that this is only the beginning, that once the TSA succeeds in removing many of our liberties that they will continue to expand their influence to ever larger groups of citizens.
